Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce remained coy when asked if pop superstar Taylor Swift would be attending the team’s upcoming game versus the Miami Dolphins in Germany.
Speaking to reporters on Friday ahead of the NFL’s second ever regular season game in Germany, Kelce declined to provide any details about Swift’s potential attendance. The two stars have been spotted together several times in recent months, fueling dating speculation.
“When I mention, or everyone knows she’s at the game, the Vegas line and over/under on my catches goes up and down,” Kelce said. “The spread goes up and down. So I don’t want to mess with any of that stuff. I’m just going to keep that to myself.”
When pressed about the status of their relationship, the 33-year-old Kelce would only say, “I got to see her last week. That’s the latest status right there.” He added that he wanted to keep his “personal relationship personal.”
Swift, 33, most recently attended a Chiefs game on October 22nd versus the Los Angeles Chargers. During that Sunday night contest, NBC Sports aired a graphic noting Kelce has more than double the receiving yards per game when Swift is in the stands.
The team went on to defeat the Chargers 31-17, with the pop singer seen giving Kelce a kiss on the cheek alongside his teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. and Hardman’s girlfriend after the game.
However, Swift was absent the following week when the Chiefs lost on the road to the Denver Broncos. After the defeat, the Broncos played Swift’s hit “Shake It Off” in their stadium as fans celebrated the win.
Kelce said on his podcast this week that the 24-9 loss to Denver was “embarrassing” and the team faces “a challenge at this point in the season to get this thing right.”
The Chiefs currently lead the AFC West with a 6-2 record. But the veteran tight end knows Kansas City needs to improve their play, especially with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently dealing with an ankle injury.
Against the Dolphins on Sunday, Kelce will look to continue his outstanding season. He already has 44 catches for 455 yards and 7 touchdowns just half way through the 2022 schedule.
Meanwhile, Swift is gearing up for the South American leg of her Eras Tour starting November 9th. She’s scheduled for three shows in Buenos Aires before heading to Brazil later in the month.
Given their packed schedules, it would be surprising if Swift is able to attend the game in Germany this weekend. However, sources close to the couple say they remain committed to supporting each other’s careers as their relationship progresses.
According to People Magazine, things are “quickly turning more serious” between the stars. An insider said they have bonded over their strong work ethics and family values.
Both Swift and Kelce have generally kept quiet publicly about their romance. The football star has avoided saying too much about the singer attending his games out of respect for her privacy.
But the attention on their budding relationship has only increased since they were first spotted together in July. Given Swift’s global fame and Kelce’s status as one of the NFL’s top tight ends, plenty of fans and media will be keeping an eye out for any possible sightings of them together.
For now, supporters will have to settle for occasional paparazzi photos of the stars out on dates as they balance busy careers in the spotlight.
Kelce remains focused on helping the Chiefs make another Super Bowl run. But win or lose, having Swift cheering him on from the stands clearly brings out his best play on the field.
